Yesterday my dad went to his former senior high school's reunion. I don't know whether it's big or not, but he said there were maybe hundreds of alumni. And speaking of which, my dad was the FIRST batch of this boys-Catholic-school, SMA Pangudi Luhur, which sounds cool to me XD. The juniors really gave their 'super' seniors; my dad and his 3 other friends, a big honor. They waited for these 4 people for about an hour late, just to open the ceremony with what we called "potong tumpeng*".

Dad finally got home with his happy face and brought me these 2 rubber bracelets :D

Maybe some of you guys're wondering (or not) where the hell are my snaps from my Lombok trip. As you might knew before, yes, i was too lazy and haven't got a chance to do something with all those hundreds photos. And now! I think i'm ready to share it with you, of course, part by part. Too many photos will kill you (and me). So here it goes. I will start this post with some snaps during my departure and my flight at December 26th.

Inside story: Me and my mom bought the ticket online for 3 days 2 nights for this trip. It was the economy class. But as you can see above, I GOT THE EXECUTIVE TICKETS..ha! Wasn't that great?! *evil smile* So when i got to the airport and processing my online ticket, the 'in-charge' guy was like checking something in his computer and looked confused but he didn't say a word instead of leaving me and my mom (yeah nice), and i guessed he was going to see his friend to ask something about my ticket. And when he's back, he said, "The economy class is already full. Do you mind if I give you two seats in executive class?" OF COURSE WE DON'T MIND SIR! *big grin* Haha..so that day began nicely. But, the meal still no good for me, don't you think? :o

so..hmm..what have i missed here...
oh! firstly, i managed to tweak my blog layout a bit..as you can see...now it's a bit wider than before..i like it this way though. what do u think? :)

and secondly, i just put a flag counter (again) in my blog, yeah this is the second time i put it here. i lost it (or delete it) somehow back then and i was too lazy to put it again to where they were. sigh.

aaandd thirdly, the valentine's story. YEAH. haha..
my val's day with him was not bad. yeah i must admitted it was not too good at first, and later it get better until midnite. he just arrived from Puncak in the morning and i knew he must be so exhausted after the Outbond thingie for 3 days 2 nights. so i was kinda hopeless for that day...but he was insisted for us to meet at least for church day ^^; all i knew was the awful weather had a control of our planning that day so we're just had dinner, talked about many things along the road, and it ended at my house..watched movie. not too bad right? it's kinda sweet actually.

and finally, i gave him this paintings..

i asked my friend, Mad Mikhali, the fantastic illustrator, to draw our pictures for Val's day and he did it very beautifully. thanks buddy! ^^; draw me more. LOL. please do check out his page for some eye candies :D

2010 is clearly near in front of my nose :D
so I just came back from my Christmas holiday trip!
yesssss...I went to Lombok with my mom for 4 days and 3 nites!
I can't wait to share the moments with you here. BUT then agaainnn....I'm not in the right mood for photo editing and uploading right now :/ so...just wait okay?! =p
I even haven't transferring those 650 (or more) photos to my HD ^^;
actually I'm pretty enjoying this holiday by being a lazybum.
oh and I miss David so much. much. and much.
can't wait for him to come at January 2nd next year ;)
and I soooooo can't wait to try my new baby polaroid (I haven't given him a name, maybe I should think one..hmmftt..)
as you can see at my latest post, David gave me as a Christmas present. pretty cool huh? ;p

i just watched the newest Disney/PIXAR animated film called "UP" and i fell in love since the first second the movie about to begin! i couldn't stop smiling and laughing and i nearly drop a tear >,<"...the movie is so touchy and meaningful, yet very very entertaining. and i couldn't stop staring at every single detail in every scene...the color, the animation, the sound..everything seemed so perfect!

as usual, every PIXAR movie always come up with a short movie in the very beginning. and "UP" is opened with a short movie called "Partly Cloudy". and i must say, this short movie is the funniest of all!

Well well wellllll~ I got a surprise from Melbourne, Australia in the morning, on July 7th! It's a CD from a band called "Be'lakor". And here's a thing about the band ( i quoted this from their myspace =p ).

"A dark, melodic death metal band from Melbourne, BE’LAKOR has quickly come to be regarded as one of Australia’s more promising and creative metal acts.

Two years have passed since the independent release of their debut, The Frail Tide. In this time, the band’s international reputation has grown rapidly on the back of high acclaim from reviewers and a dedicated and ever-growing fan base. Drawing influences from the natural world and the perpetual struggle between destruction and life, Be’lakor creates songs that take the listener on a compelling journey. Their highly anticipated second album, Stone’s Reach, is set for release on June 20, 2009. Be’lakor will be venturing across Australia for the first time, taking in performances in Melbourne, Adelaide, Brisbane & Sydney."

So, a few months ago, George (one of the personnel of Be'lakor) contact me via my deviantArt, and he asked me if he could use one my artwork for their next album, Stone's Reach. SBY-BOEDIONO massive campaign!

At July 4th i took a part in SBY-BOEDIONO last campaign at Gelora Bung Karno, Senayan. It was a huuugggeeeee campaign i might say...and thank God it all went smooth except the people who brought a big flag who were walking around in front of the main camera and blocked everything that YOU should have seen on your television >.> but it's just only 2 seconds i think. Oh and the not-so-good news is.....i had to climb up a 3 meters-level-high stage rigging and i couldn't get back on the ground until 5 people helped me after the show LOL. it took about 10 minutes to get me through the 'process' =p hahahah thank you guys! well, here's the snapshots!

after all that bed rest and medicines..i think that's super enough to bore me for almost 5 days. geezzz~

i went to the doctor (finally) yesterday...she's young, beautiful, and nice i must say ^^
but she told me not to do this(s) and that(s). hiks. everything that i mostly do everyday!
and she gave me 3 medicines + 1 vitamin. and voila now i'm healed! *big grin*

so i think i want to say huge thanks to dr. Hanna and all my lovely friends, especially joni for the cream soup! ;D
not to mention mas agung, widi, dody, dilla, egi, jack, buldut, and others that has supported me via facebook =p

okay so i've been sick since...friday, i guessed. it's actually started on wednesday. i sneezed sneezed and sneezed without any single thought that i would be really sick. and on friday it got worse. hard to move, hard to think, hard to speak. i'm totally a walking-zombie-with-tissues at the office that day. o yeah, and the medicine i took had a superb sleepy-effect but i tried so hard to opened my eyes. can u imagine that? maybe i should put a duct tape on my eyes to keep them widely open.

and the best part is....

i missed the opportunity to take the documentation for Djarum Indonesia Open 2009 event ;(
(sssstt, i got a part in the opening video of indonesia open =p , so you'll see me for like 4 seconds each time you watch this event on your television lol)
oh i am, so so soooooooo sad!

and tomorrow i have to attend a general training program in my office, starts from 8am - 6pm EVERYDAY for 2 weeks!!!
God, could it be worse? hufffff~

A NEW ART SPACE OPENED IN ANCOL

A new art space opened in Jakarta on Friday, April 17. It is not like any other gallery in town - being situated amid Ancol Dreamland, a center of fun, entertainment and creativity. Named North Art Space, it will be known by its acronym NAS.

"NAS is presented as a response to the need for more stages and show windows for high-achieving creative artists, the need for more educational programs for the people at large, and also the need for more opportunities for economic transaction," says Budi Karya Sumadi, director of PT Pembangunan Jaya Ancol in his foreword to the catalog.

An art lover himself, Budi has put his words into practice, with the impressive exhibition to mark this special occasion.

Over 20 artists using a variety of mediums have been selected and their art works curated, in cooperation with Galeri Semarang, to respond to the title of the exhibition, which deals with hybridization.

The curator, Rifky Effendy, has written an interesting curatorial which elaborates on the historical path of hybridization in Indonesia.

In contemporary art, hybridization is not only a mix of medium and culture, says Rifky, it is also a matter of how the construction of thought and visual language or signs have crossed cultures throughout the ages.

Thus, according to Rifky, hybridization has become a process of liberation, a freeing from the historical dogmas of Western (colonial) visual art, and allowing local culture to be considered. Hybridization then is an ongoing process.

To what extent and in what manner such a process is visible in the various works, is something that takes time to answer, but the mere appearance of some of these works are fascinating and easily understandable.

Sometimes there is a notion of confusion, or boredom, as in the work by Soni Irawan titled Hari Ini Hari Libur Nasional (Today is A National Holiday); as if to put an accent on the profound boredom that such national holidays bring to some people, he adds the text "celebrating boredom" and "happy bore day".

A similar mood seems to also dwell in the painting by Arie Dyanto, titled Juxtaposed and features a figure buried under a heap of open books that lay in chaos, as if the figure had purposely and out of sheer weariness thrown the books upon his body. Surrogate riverstones of all sizes hung on threads of varying lengths form the Endless installation by Yani Mariani Sastranegara, evoking a sense of the surreal.

There is also a C-print - likened to a painting - by Indra Leonardi, featuring a dramatic image of a girl with iron fingers titled Far from Home, the images on soft textiles juxtaposed with video images by Prilla Tania.

A video performance by Jompet shows the elegance of a dancer with a naked upper body rhythmically moving amid the cold industrial machines and instruments, and Galam Zulkifli's painting of Illusion featuring an icon behind "stripes" may well be a reminder to beware of deception.

And while Haris Purnomo marks the smooth skin of babies with tattoos, revealing his concern for the future of our youth, Heri Dono's Moon Racer, an imaginative vehicle crafted out of an old car, gives hope for the future. Indeed hybridization is all around - though we may not be aware of it.

YAY!

last weekend i went to bogor for 3 days. it's a duty actually. but it's loads of fun there ^^ we did a shooting for a regular tv program called "wara wiri" and it hosted by Adul and Komeng, and also Kate. (fyi, you can see it on trans|7, from thursday until saturday @ 6pm))

all the crews and talents are fun to be with! young people were gathered and yeah, let the craziness begin =p humm..here i wanna share with you some of our photos. and couples of shot from the shooting process.

hahahah ( why am i laughing?! ) yeah.

anywayyyy...last friday i killed my booorrrringg time at the office by doing a quick photo shoot with my friend, darius manihuruk, he's one of indonesian professional photographers (yeah, he must be smiling now as he read this, rite bang dar? huuu dasar narsis!). he asked me to take a photo of him with his new hair cut and we did some stupid shots in the rooftop, and the results turned out good in someways hahahah. the wind blew so hard and my hair flew everywhere! lol.

UH HUH. 2009.

hufff~ well, i don't have any resolution..............but just one mission. BUY A CAMERA. and if my mom/dad/~~brother~~ (he bought me once, and i lost it. so he's out of the list for now) bought it for me, i should REDEEM IT* (*as soon as possible). so that means i have to kick my ass harder.

hummm i wasn't really feel anything anyway. just like the same old days. but yeah, i did have fun with my college buddies ^^ i'll post the photos later. we had barbecue dinner, midnite shop -nah, it's just a window shop actually =p; fooled around in timezone HAHAHAH (we're so pathetic, guys), and finally...counted down together while Audy was singing. you can see the news here. no it's not news about us =p it's about the atomic party in summarecon mal serpong where i spent my new year's eve. and the fireworrksssss were awesome! *nod nod* it's like almost 30 minutes of show. yeah, i had my neck stiff. and everyone was like "ooooo~" and "aaaaaa~". clapping and laughing to each other. yea it's quite fun that nite. NOT TO MENTION THE TRAFFICCCCC~ *sigh. people and cars (and motorcycles) were everywhere. d e a d l y c r o w d e d. huff. arrived home at 3 in the morning............. and immediately, beautifully slept. ^^;

just make sure you guys know that now i'm officially working as a photographer in TRANS|7 under the TRANS CORPORATION since December 2008. so it's almost been a month i guess ;) it's quite fun to do your hobby as a job. working in a big company triggers me to be more discipline (which is good), learning to work in such a big team and also meet so many people in different positions. i'm glad that i found many humble and lovely people to work with ^^

so at this point, i am e x c i t e d having a chance to experience all of these.

woke up today at 10.30 am, a friend of mine called, still sleepy, but remembering i have slept for about 15 hours so i was glad for the call (yeah i got some lacks of sleep for the past two weeks, i have no working hours on my job and still couldn't handle that +_+ ). and until now i haven't done anything instead of typing this and that. huhuh. yea yea super-lazy me. i'm enjoying my freetime anyway, but i miss my friends so much.
